Community Outreach
Continuing the work of Sandy Activity Night
Besides the work through Oregon Provider. we feel a duty to do community social work. This outreach is driven by people with disabilities and their support workers to build a stronger community while doing good deeds through the view that everyone has the capability to contribute to their community. Differences should not be considered a hindrance but rather an advantage in return creating a safe space to build an all-inclusive stronger community.
Feeding community
We host a free-of-charge weekly community dinner from 3-5 p.m. every Thursday. Meals can be picked up to go at the Sandy Community Church, 39290 Scenic St. Those in need of delivery (who live within the five-mile delivery radius)
Fun opportunities
We host free-of-charge activity nights for people with developmental disabilities, including Bingo nights, dances and more.
Sandy Connect
Sandy Connect was created to connect the various community organizations of Sandy in order collaborate so we can be as effective in our goals, and resources as possible. This group was made to help make the community of Sandy Oregon aware of the various resources available in order to make them as effective as possible. There is a quarterly meeting for all social services in Sandy, OR in order to help stay connected and make sandy stronger.
Community resources
Volunteers host a shower cart service from 3-5 p.m. every second Thursday, of the month. This service is offered in conjunction with SAN's established free community meal. Partner Love One provides all items needed to shower, such as razors, shaving cream, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. They also have towels on hand and provide everyone with clean undergarments and socks.
