I am 21 years old and I am attending Mt. Hood Community College. I plan on transferring to Portland State University to pursue a career in Special Education. I enjoy fishing, hiking, kayaking, watching sports, and coaching for Special Olympics. I am comfortable working in Sandy, Gresham, Troutdale, or Damascus areas. I have most experience working with teens/young adults with autism, but I enjoy working with all ages and any disability. I currently have a full schedule and I am either working or attending school. My name is Alyssa and I live in the Gateway area of Portland. I work around the Hollywood district, Gresham and Troutdale typically. When it comes to being a DSP, my skills include hygiene supports, transportation supports and budgeting supports. My typical day with my clients usually consists of getting out of the house to go and do something for the day, grocery shopping, cleaning their house and dressing them. I enjoy working with people and although I might be a little quiet at first, I feel like over time I open up and create a good connection with the client. Outside of work, my hobbies include playing video games, reading, working out, hiking, fishing and snowboarding.

Hello, my name is Jessica. I would like to take a minute of your time to tell you about myself. I currently live in Portland with my husband and my old dog Sasha. In my spare time, I like to hang out with my friends and family. My favorite activities are going to see plays/musicals and spending time at the beach. My husband and I like to see movies and try new foods restaurants. My favorite hobbies are traveling, karaoke and doing a variety of arts and crafts. My favorite time of year is Fall because of all the trees turning beautiful colors. I love all types of music but mostly listen to 80’s classic rock and R&B. On my days off you can usually find me playing with my dog except in winter when I am rooting for my Seattle Seahawks. My husband is a Minnesota Viking so our household has learned to respectfully communicate and compromise. I grew up on a small farm in the country with a horse named Susie Q, cows, chickens and sheep. I am a big dog lover and have always had a special dog in my life. My favorite childhood memories are winning a goldfish at the school carnival, riding bikes down dirt roads, harvesting pears and Christmas festivities at my grandparents. My sister and I as little girls enjoyed making up gymnastic routines, playing in the pool and building a tree fort. My greatest accomplishment is graduating from Portland State University. Since then I have worked with children with behavioral and developmental disabilities in the classroom. In 2012 I began working with adults with disabilities. I have had the privilege to work with individuals with all types of disabilities and diverse backgrounds. It has always been my passion to help others fulfill their goals. I have experience assisting individuals with supported employment and in-home supports such as cooking, budgeting and organizing there home. Also, I enjoy taking clients to group activities and assist them in socially interacting with others. I believe in helping individuals to advocate for themselves and becoming as independent as they can. My friends would most likely describe me as having an outgoing personality, talkative and sarcastic. If I was asked to describe myself I would say that I am honest, reliable and funny. My personal goal to accomplish is traveling to every continent. So far I have been to N. America, Asia, Australia, and partly Antarctica but you will have to ask me about that story later!

Hello there, my name is Madysen, I am 22 years old. In September I will be with DD & MH provider of Oregon for two years. I am also a nanny, I have been a nanny for the same family for going on 7 years now. I am attending Mount Hood Community College and will be graduating very soon. My hobbies would include, kayaking, hanging out with friends and family, watching movies, hiking. The preferred geographical areas that I typically like working in would be, Sandy, Gresham, Troutdale or Damascus. I work Monday-Friday mornings and nights, my nights usually end at about 7:30 pm. I love working with children, I have worked with three children with Downs Syndrome. I have worked with many adults with different types of disability. My schedule for my nanny job stays about the same, for months, but can change due to their schedule change. Hello my name is Melissa, and I am a fan of the outdoors, and love to cook delicious food. I have lived in Oregon, close to Portland, for at least 10 years, and enjoy the weather here except for the rain. Well, sometimes I like the rain. I am a fan of animals, and have owned animals that since I was a child. I am a fan of meeting people and going out for adventures within Oregon and outside of Oregon as well. We decided to open DD & MH Provider of Oregon because I have served the DD/ID community for 10 years as an Independent Contractor and wanted to give more to my beautiful community of Sandy Oregon. Since June of 2017, we have been able to help Sandy Activity Night grow into a community Resource that offers supports, services, and skills in order give people the tools to contribute to their community on all levels. We appreciate our community supporters, our Team, and the people we serve, without you, we would not be who we are!

It fulfills me to help others and I have always been very mothering towards others. My name is Shayla Hays I am 20 years old and I have been working as a DSP since July of 2018. I mostly work in the Sandy and Estacada area though I currently live in the Gresham area with my fiancee and roommate. I have really enjoyed meeting and working with the customers I enjoy bring able to help them learn new skills and learn about the things going on around them.
